Benjamin S. Bergan

Biography

Ben advises Syracuse University on a broad range of transactional legal matters with a focus on the University’s research enterprise. He works closely with the Office of Sponsored Programs and the Office of Technology Transfer on matters spanning intellectual property, technology commercialization, and sponsored research. Prior to joining Syracuse, Ben served as Assistant General Counsel at Cornell University, advising on business and transactional matters. Earlier in his career, he worked at a defense contractor in roles spanning subcontracting, procurement, and compliance, and at the Cornell Center for Technology Licensing.

Ben earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Syracuse University College of Law and his B.S. from Clarkson University.
